Landslide monitoring project - 6 months of drone data

We've been monitoring a slow-moving landslide in the Cascades for the past 6 months using monthly drone flights. The change detection data is fascinating.

Setup: M350 RTK, L2 LiDAR, permanent GCPs on stable ground. Flying monthly at the same time of day for consistent shadows.

We're seeing 2-5cm/month of movement on the main scarp. The LiDAR data clearly shows tension cracks developing that aren't visible to the naked eye.

Processing in CloudCompare for change detection. Happy to share methodology if anyone's doing similar work.

This is incredible data. The M2C (multiscale model to model cloud comparison) in CloudCompare is perfect for this. Are you using it or doing simple cloud-to-cloud distance?

We did something similar for a coastal erosion project and the temporal data is so much more valuable than single-point surveys.

Would love to see the change detection heat maps if you can share. This kind of project is exactly why drone surveying matters - we can do temporal monitoring at a fraction of the cost of traditional methods.

What's your total cost per monthly flight including processing time?
