Got a project in controlled airspace near a Class C airport. LAANC auto-approved up to 200ft but I need 300ft for the required GSD. Manual authorization request was denied.
The site is 4 miles from the runway, well outside approach paths. Anyone successfully appealed a LAANC denial? Or is there a better process for getting higher altitude waivers near airports?
Project deadline is in 3 weeks.

Sign inCall the TRACON directly. Seriously. The FAA has moved most authorization to LAANC but the facility managers can still approve operations outside the auto-approval grid.
I've gotten verbal approval by calling and explaining the operation. They'll tell you when they can accommodate you. Usually early morning or late afternoon when traffic is light.
Alternative approach: can you fly lower and use a higher resolution camera? The M3E at 200ft gives you about 1" GSD. What resolution do you actually need?
Sometimes the answer is working within the constraints rather than fighting them.
