Got a project about 2 miles from a regional airport in controlled airspace. First time dealing with LAANC. The grid shows I can get auto-approval up to 200ft but I need 300ft for good GSD.
Do I need to go through the full Part 107 waiver process for the extra 100ft? Or is there a faster way?

Sign inCall the airport tower directly. Seriously. For 100ft above the auto-approval ceiling they're often accommodating, especially if you explain you're doing survey work and provide your flight plan. I've had same-day approvals this way.
LAANC only does auto-approval up to the published ceiling. For anything above that you need to submit a further coordination request through the same apps (Aloft, Airmap, etc). It's not a full waiver but it does require manual review.
Typically takes 24-48 hours. Plan ahead.
Document everything. Screenshot your LAANC approval, keep records of any coordination. If something goes wrong you want a paper trail.
