The L2 payload has been out for a while now. At $8k for the sensor (plus M350 cost), it's the cheapest drone LiDAR option that's actually usable.
Anyone doing serious survey work with it? How does point density and accuracy compare to the Zenmuse L1 or YellowScan units?
Mostly interested in tree canopy penetration and bare earth extraction under moderate vegetation.

Sign inRunning the L2 for 4 months now. Point density is excellent - getting 200+ pts/m² at 50m AGL. Bare earth extraction under moderate forest canopy is surprisingly good, 3-5 returns per pulse.
Accuracy on checkpoints: 2-3cm horizontal, 3-5cm vertical with RTK. Comparable to what we were getting with the Zenmuse L1.
For the price, it's hard to beat. We replaced our YellowScan Mapper+ ($60k) with the L2 and the results are 90% as good for 15% of the cost.
The processing in DJI Terra is the weak link. We export the raw LAS and process in TerraSolid for serious work.
